"The MedCenter is a life-changer."
Recently, the MedCenter System recieved the coveted "SEC-tacular Certified Seal" from "Just A Sec: The Lifestyle Blog for Busy New York Secretaries".
SEC-tacular Award
"I love this thing," Barbara told us. "I take medication too and not always, but once in a while I forget. I couldn't forget anything with (the MedCenter System)." Barbara added, "I have an elderly mother and I'm going to get one of these for her. It's great for older people who have trouble remembering, especially when they have so many pills to take for this and that." The MedCenter System can make a concrete, immediate difference in your health and wellbeing, and for that reason, it's well worth the $69.95 price tag."

health-care-supplies.com - PRODUCT REVIEW:
MedCenter System Talking Monthly Pill Reminder & Organizer is a stunningly simple yet totally effective organizer for persons with very specific medication needs who can have an extra measure of security knowing they will be reminded by pre-set alerts about the times for taking different pills. Setting the visual dates on the boxes also sets up the timing of the alerts, delivered by even Extra Loud - if necessary - settings, also pre-set, by volume. This organizer lets you set up to four times daily for alerts and the red and green colorng on the boxes informs as to which ones have been taken and which are still to go.

"Good morning, it is time to take your monring pills for the 19th" is the announcement heard, conforming thence to the one thing doctors and pharamacists agree is the single most important aspect of any medication regime - the timing, conformity and periodicity for most effect. Once the "Alarm Acknowledged Button" is pushed, there is another reminder, mentioning the next time this particular medication will be due to take. By integrating this handy alert unit into a daily routine, patients can rest assured they will conform very precisely to the doctor's best wishes for maintenance and recovery.

The MedCenter talking pillbox, about $70, organizes a month's worth of pills and alerts you four times a day.

As a highly-distractible, work-at-home mom, I often lost track of time. I was looking for an alarm clock with several alarms to catch my attention during the day, thinking that an alarm could remind me to at least notice the time and check my schedule. I happened across the concept of a pill timer and went through several from other companies (poor quality) before I found this model. Not only does this have six reprogrammable alarms, I can even record a 10-second message for each with a specific reminder to myself, such as, "5:00 - time to start supper!" or "10:05 - Tidy up, check tomorrow's schedule, and head to bed!" This is super! The recording is pretty loud, preceded by several beeps that catch my attention from another floor of the house. It goes off for a good while until I turn it off using the large, easy-to-use buttons.
I am terrible at technological things, but this was not hard to program. The timer goes off at the same times each day unless I turn off a specific timer (so I can program the voice alert to remind me to do weekday activities, then deactivate that alarm on the weekend, then simply turn that alarm back on each Sunday night).
It even feels like a nice quality piece, and it's generic enough to sit on my desk and not look like a pill timer. The backlight stays on for several seconds to see the timer face in low lighting but the readout is pretty large already. If you plan to use it as your primary clock, be aware that the time is not exceptionally large or contrasting on the face; the day and date are larger. The digits in the time are about 1/2 inch high (larger than most alarm clock numbers).
I appreciated that the price included an AC adapter, so I won't run through batteries each week, but I do have the battery backup and can use this portably if I choose to.
This item would also be useful for children who are forgetful or easily sidetracked -- they could hear reminders in their own voices (or mom's!) to transition to their next activity, set the table for dinner, start cleaning up for bedtime, etc.  I think this will be a valuable tool for my home management and I will recommend it to my clients.
(One programming note: In the "setting alarm times" section of the instructions, step four says to select the current hour, but I believe it would be more accurate to say to select the desired time. But it was simple to figure out.)

Would Make an Excellent Gift!

My dad has the Med Center System. Until he got it, I used to worry all the time about whether he was taking his medications properly. When visiting him, I would dread hearing him ask my mom if he had taken his afternoon pills yet. Sometimes, she would remember that he had, other times they would try to reconstruct the afternoon or count his remaining pills to figure it out. Very scary, considering that his life depends on taking his medications properly. Now, he never forgets! The Med Center reminds him by clearly speaking the date/time and which meds he needs to take..... morning (breakfast), noon (lunch), evening (supper), night(bedtime). The clock will continue to remind him until he takes his pills and presses the acknowledge button. My dad is hard of hearing, but the Med Center has two volume settings and one of them is just right for him. Each day of the month has its own four-section pillbox clearly labeled with the date and the time of day the pills need to be taken. My dad only takes his meds 3 times each day, but it is possible to set the Med Center to remind someone to take meds once, twice, three or even four times a day. IMHO, the Med Center would make a WONDERFUL gift for someone you care about who takes pills or vitamins daily.

Great Buy!

...it is also useful for elderly patients with mild cognitive impairment(MCI) or any memory issues. I purchased this system for my mother, after researching its competition. For this price, there is nothing better. They thought of almost everything! It works beautifully, with up to 4 voice alarms, which can be programmed (or even turned off individually, as needed). It even announces the date and time. Having the color coded ends that indicate which days have been taken and completed (red), and which have not (green) is a stroke of genius. I also like the fact that the batteries in the alarm box are double A, rather than some obscure type which can be harder to come by. This system is easy to set up and understand, simple to use and has a terrific price point. I recommend it to anyone who has loved ones with MCI or even certain types of dementia.

Prescription compliance is plaguing the United States.  Individuals of all ages have difficulty taking one prescription exactly as prescribed by their physician.  They often miss a dose, double the dose, or fail to finish the regimen.  Not taking prescriptions as directed can have a devastating effect on our health and our financial well being.  As we age, complying with our medical regimen becomes more difficult due to the increased number of prescriptions we encounter.  The MedCenter is a great assistant in meeting our prescription regimen.  Once a month, the MedCenter is filled with the tablets and capsules required for that month’s schedule.  The MedCenter reminds the patient of when to take their next dose through the use of an alarm clock.  The alarm clock continues to sound until the patient takes that dose and then resets for the next scheduled dose.  When compared to the health and financial consequences of prescription non-compliance, the MedCenter provides an invaluable advantage.
